Crozet is recognized as a census-designated place, located in Albemarle County, which is in the American state of Virginia. It covers an area of 3.7 square miles and is situated about 12 miles west of the city of Charlottesville. However, it forms part of the Metropolitan Statistical Area of Charlottesville.
Crozet was formerly known as “Wayland’s Crossing”. Later on in 1870, it was renamed after the engineer that supervised the construction of the Blue Ridge Tunnel, whose name was Colonel Claudius Crozet.
Population and Income
According to the 2010 census, the population in Crozet consisted of 5,565 people, with a median age of 38.3 years. The median household income during the census was $68,608. Data USA gives more recent statistic showing that the population had grown to 6,601 people by the year 2014. The median age was found to have remained relatively the same, at 38.6 years. Data USA also reports that by 2014, the median household income had increased to $83,886 and the median property value was $333,200.
Crozet is situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which gives it beautiful sceneries and amazing places for visitors to explore. Those who love hiking can take advantage of all the space and sceneries that can be viewed on the hiking trail at Mint Spring Valley Park. It also acts as a prime venue during national holidays like Memorial Day and Labour Day.

This one was built for sports lovers since it has baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, playgrounds and even a swimming pool.
